(x)tree project

The (x)tree project is a collaborative experiment in open source data visualization, video mapping and participatory art. We have created an open source code which captures data live from the internet and converts it into branches of trees. These growing tree forms are then projected on to buildings or walls as part of a socially interactive art piece that challenges our relationship to technology, while raising awareness to the importance of preserving linguistic and biocultural diversity around the world.
